Instinctively Wild

Continuing to ‘Get Outdoors’

We are the very proud recipients of a Life Changes Trust Award, funded by the Big Lottery, to run outdoor projects for those living with dementia. Block one of our sessions running over two years has been very successful, and September has seen the start of our second round of sessions. It’s wonderful to see some folk returning, and to welcome some new faces.

The ‘Get Outdoors’ strand of funding helps connect people with dementia with the outdoors in a way they wish to connect.

This builds on our previous work in the Borders, and allows us to continue to offer our programme for at least a further two years. And that makes us very happy!

For those living with dementia who come on our projects, we provide the opportunity to simply sit or take a gentle walk outdoors; to have a cuppa and chat around the campfire; to tell stories; to be creative; to take part in music; to gain confidence – and so much more. Everything that being outdoor offers, in a special and supportive environment.
