Volunteering

If you’re interested in volunteering opportunities and outdoor environmental work with people, why not volunteer with Instinctively Wild?

Volunteers are a vital part of our team, and we can’t do what we do without them, so we spend a lot of time and effort making sure your volunteering time with us is the most rewarding experience possible.

Making new friends

Make New Friends

We are currently looking  (April 2017 ) for new people to help us deliver projects, specifically our summer activity weeks ‘Eco-Kidz’ in East Lothian at Yellowcraigs 31st July – 3rd August & 7th – 10th August – non-residential). These activity weeks are for 8-14 yr olds.

For the Eco-kidz weeks you’ll ideally be based in Edinburgh or East Lothian. We do book a Bothy for the week nr Haddington, which saves a drive to and from Yellowcraigs everyday. This is for the adult team to stay in during the running of the weeks. Some experience of working with children would be useful, but full training is given prior to volunteering.

Any potential volunteer needs to be 18+. As we are working with vulnerable groups, potential volunteers undergo an interview, references, PVG check, induction training and a probationary period. Once through the probationary period, volunteers will be offered support and are able to volunteer on whatever project they wish.

In the first instance email Graeme Drever or text and ask for a Volunteer Induction Booklet. The booklet will tell you everything you need to know, once you’ve read that and wish to continue, we’ll arrange to meet and take the application forward.
